In the Parks Series: Restaurant Review: Columbia Harbour House

Columbia Harbour House is a seafood-based restaurant (with a few other options) located in Liberty Square of the Magic Kingdom. This is one of a handful of restaurants to have mobile ordering as an option at this time.

I’m going to be quite frank: our experience with Columbia Harbour House started off bad, and did not get better from there. We made a mobile order while in line for Pirates of the Caribbean. On our way off of the ride, we were informed that our order was ready. This was a problem - we did not click that we were ready and to prepare our meal at that point, so why was our food ready  for pickup? We felt rushed to get there before our food got cold and raced from Adventureland to Liberty Square as fast as we could. Spoiler alert: it was as cold as Blackbeard’s dead heart. Arrgghh.

I  had ordered the lobster roll with fries and Chris ordered the land and sea trio. Time to delve in.

Lobster Roll

No, it wasn't better than it looked. My lobster roll was terrible. It had no flavour whatsoever and was more rubbery than a rubber chicken. Chris speculated that they boiled it for much too long. I had modified my order to include fries and wouldn’t you know it, but it came with those same french fries from Grandma’s deep freeze found at Pinocchio Village Haus. I actually only had a few bites of the lobster roll before I admitted defeat.

Chris was kind enough to share his food with me given how badly my food had turned out. The land and sea trio came with corn on the cob, fries, chicken nuggets, shrimp, and two pieces of battered fish.

Land and Sea Trio

The shrimp and nuggets were edible, and I did not try the corn (Chris said it was fine). The fish tasted like a fish stick you might find in the freezer of a Costco. Either way, his food tasted like the food of the gods compared to my rubber chicken roll.

In all, I would consider Columbia Harbour House to contain objectionable-quality cafeteria food. This is an establishment that can barely even be called a Quick Service restaurant and I would not recommended it.

Therefore, I give this establishment 1.25/5 mouse ears.
